Kindergarten - Physical Education

Week of March 3rd, 17th & 24th:
Have you every tried controlling the movement of a ball with your feet?  We'll work on controlling our large muscles as we cycle  through four different skill centres.



Week of February 10th, 17th & 24th:
Bounce that ball!  We'll work on controlling our large muscles as we use hula hoops to help us direct our bouncing balls.



Week of February 3rd:
Can you work together as a team to collect all the bean bags in 5-4-3-2-1?



Week of January 20th and 27th:
We are becoming aware of are large muscle control and spacial awareness as we travel trough a series of various obstacle courses.



Week of January 13th:
THE GYM IS OPEN!!

Week of December 16th:
Eye-hand coordination is the focus as students work on learning how to dribble a basketball this week.



Week of December 2nd:
Has your child every played soccer? Baseball?  Students will be working on their eye-foot coordination and eye-hand coordination with a partner using bean bags.

  
Week of November 25th:
The students of Mrs. Bruining's and Ms. Acres' classroom will be introduced to Hyde Park's parachute this week.  We will be developing our ability to work cooperatively.


Week of November 18th:
Students will work in partners and groups, learning different ways to problem solve in cooperative games.


Week of November 4th:
Can you cooperate with others?  Can you pass a ball quickly in a circle?  What about listening for your name as a second ball is rolled toward you?


Week of October 28th:
Breathe in, breathe out, breathe in, breathe out.  Time to learn how to relax will picturing a warm mug of hot chocolate and blanket.


Week of October 21st:
The warm weather continues and the kindergarten students continue to enjoy the playground!  The students are developing their listening skills and ability to participate in safe play.  We enjoy singing The Ants Go Marching and making up our lyrics.
